“The Legacy of Olmsted: Landscape, Advocacy and Communication.”
The event will return to the Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey for three days, Sunday, January 30 through Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Live sessions will be recorded and uploaded for on-demand viewing online after the live event has taken place. This format offers us the greatest amount of flexibility for our attendees to participate in the way that they prefer.
As in the past, speakers will represent a balanced mix of both prestigious, internationally renowned speakers and respected regional and local professionals whose presentations are tailored to a specific theme. This year’s program, “The Legacy of Olmsted: Landscape, Advocacy and Communication”, recognizes the accomplishments of Frederick Law Olmsted beyond the landscape, including his commitment to advocacy in the public realm and as a journalist. We as contemporary practitioners continue to apply the same multi-disciplinary approach to our practice today, in an effort to continue to define the built environment around us for a better future.
Each year individuals from the tri-state region and beyond attend the event in order to obtain their required annual professional education credits and network with other landscape architects, planners, arborists, urban foresters, and students of these and related disciplines. We have seen remarkable year-over-year growth in attendance – our 2021 Annual Meeting (our first-ever fully virtual conference!) exceeded expectations with over 740 attendees from over 25 US states and more than 10 countries abroad. The NJASLA conference is a highly anticipated fixture at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey – offering a three-day program of over 25 keynotes, concurrent sessions, networking events, and EXPO trade show programming – is the unofficial kickoff to the ASLA regional calendar.
