The traditional springtime celebration of the mountains is back in full force! This year, our programming focuses on the rich legacy of Frederick Law Olmsted. Come and take part in activities highlighting the vision and values of this great man that still define the public spaces of our mountain today.

New discovery walk: A glimpse into the therapeutic value of Mount Royal

Did you know that Mount Royal Park was created with the health of Montrealers in mind? Learn about the vision of the park’s designer, F. L. Olmsted, and discover the legacy of the Religieuses Hospitalières de Saint-Joseph, the order of religious hospitallers whose garden remains one of the jewels of the Mount Royal Heritage Site that has played so many different roles during the course of its history. Starting at the Hôtel-Dieu garden, the walk will take you up to the Camillien-Houde Lookout via the mountain’s eastern slope. Join us and treat yourself to a moment of well-being for the body and mind!

This special activity is being offered in honour of Olmsted’s 200th birthday, in partnership with the Musée des Hospitalières de l’hôtel-Dieu de Montréal.

Dates:
May 21, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (offered as part of Mai : Mois du Mont-Royal)
June 18, July 23 and August 13, 9 a.m. to noon
