In 1852 the great Frederick Law Olmsted wandered through England drinking in the beauty of its countryside; now, on Saturday, 21st January 2023, the English landscape architect, John Phibbs, plans to return the compliment with a wander over Olmsted’s Central Park, seeing it through the eyes of the English gardeners and landscape architects who inspired his design.
This is not a formal event, there is no charge, no deep-seated or long-considered plan, but we hope to exchange ideas, and to bring a fresh shine to a place now so familiar to the people of New York.

Please let us know if you’d like to join us (; we’ll be setting off from the TAVERN-ON-THE-GREEN, Central Park, at 1.30 pm, Saturday afternoon.
