Join us as we celebrate 60 years of Wickham Park!

There will be talks on the development of Wickham Park and the history of the Wickham Family in Manchester as well as face painters, balloon twisters, and craft tables from 11 am to 3 pm. As always, you can visit the Aviary, Nature Center and our world class gardens.

All activities are free with your vehicle entry fee!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
10am – Tour the Pinetum with Steve Cronkite. Learn about the wide variety of conifers from around the world that are planted in this unique garden. Meet at parking lot A.
11am – Horizon Wings will bring a variety of raptors and discuss the importance of raptors in the ecosystem. At the Cabin Garden Tent.
Noon – The Development of Wickham Park – Jeff Maron, Park Director for 44 years, will talk about how Wickham Park went from 2 gardens and vast fields to the manicured park with 10 formal gardens, picnic sites, sports facilities and more that it is today.
1pm – History of Manchester and the Wickham Family – Susan Barlow of the Manchester Historical Society will hold a talk about the wonderful history of Manchester and how the Wickham Family contributed to this fine city.
3pm – Garden Tour – Join us for a walk through the gardens. Learn about the plants and the development of the gardens. You’ll visit the English, Scottish, Oriental and Irish Garden. Meet in parking lot A.
4pm – Tree tour with Steve Cronkite. Learn about the arboretum throughout the park. See trees from around the world!
