The 2025 Beveridge Research Grant Call for Entries can be found here.
The Research Grant pays tribute to Charles Beveridge, Series Editor of The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted and devoted friend of Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site. All candidates should have a research project that uniquely broadens our understanding of the Olmsted legacy at the national, state, regional, or municipal level. Projects addressing any aspect of the Olmsted firms’ work or their contributions to the pedagogy and professional practice of landscape architecture and planning may also be appropriate.
We encourage graduates, undergraduates and emerging professionals in landscape architecture, historic preservation, landscape history, environmental studies, city and regional planning, sustainability, archeology and other disciplines. Previous applicants may also apply. A stipend of up to $3,000 will be awarded to the selected recipient to enable research. A short report or presentation summarizing the research is required.
The awardee will be selected based on the proposal’s originality and the extent to which the research utilizes resources in the Olmsted Archives and other repositories.
