Boston Common

The Olmsted Brothers firm was engaged to advise on soil improvements for the Boston Common in 1910. The trees, especially the American elms, were stressed. The work over the next several years included addressing many other details of park improvements, including defending the park from transportation improvement impacts, both proposed street widenng and streetcar tunnels and stations.
