About Boston Parks through 950

With a collection of more than 45 jobs, including the parks and parkways making up the famed Emerald Necklace, the Olmsted Firm designed the comprehensive park system over a period of several years, from 1876 through the mid 1900s. Frederick Law Olmsted’s grand plan consisted of 5 primary parks including Fens – Back Bay (00916), Muddy River (00927), Olmsted Park (00964), Jamaica Park (00920), Franklin Park (00918), and Arnold Arboretum (00902), and a series of connective parkways. For job 00950, see Boston Parks/Public Grounds Department (00950) and its subprojects 00950-01 to 00950-38.
