About Mim’s Park

The preliminary plan for Mim’s Park was drawn in 1904 by the Olmsted Brothers, as part of a scheme to improve the parks in Atlanta, GA (plan 02743-5). The correspondence reveals the general manager of the Park Department of Atlanta contacted the firm requesting a revised plan to move forward on in 1910. The plan included a wading pool, public house comfort, open shelter, and lawn. Understanding the parks department was working with a limited budget, they recommended to approach the project in stages and “carry out the grading to subgrade first…the next step might be the planting and then the construction.” [P.R.P to Dan Carey_06-10-1911_LOC-OAR-B-R97-im.12]
