Founded in 2007, The Charleston Parks Conservancy is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire the people of Charleston to connect with their parks and together create stunning public places and a strong community.

As an organization, the Conservancy secures 90% of the funding needed to maintain 26 parks, gardens and trails across the city, including a section of the Olmsted-designed Hampton Park. The Conservancy provides year-round park care, focusing on sustainable maintenance and piloting innovative uses of public land to serve those most in need in the community. In addition to park maintenance, the Conservancy organizes and hosts over 200 hours of events and activities— 80% of which are free to the public. Over 1500 volunteers help support the breadth of Conservancy social initiatives, addressing issues such as hunger, depleting tree canopies and support for new mothers, through the Grow it Forward, Charleston Trees and Cut Flower programs.

The Charleston Parks Conservancy is committed to cultivating a healthy, vibrant and welcoming city, and strives to enrich the diverse community by fostering deep involvement in shared public spaces.
