The Portland Parks Foundation is a city-wide parks nonprofit dedicated to connecting Portlanders to nature and to each other through the city’s parks, public spaces, and natural areas. We lead, develop partnerships, and raise money to fund new facilities, enhance existing ones, and support programs to put our parks system within reach of all. We are the chief philanthropic partner of Portland Parks & Recreation.

Our mission is to create a more equitable, sustainable, and accessible park system by bridging the gap between city resources and community vision. We achieve this through high-impact capital projects, such as the iconic Barbara Walker Crossing connecting the Wildwood Trail over West Burnside and building inclusive playgrounds throughout the city. In addition to our capital projects, central to our year-round work are our Friends and Allies Initiatives, which provide technical assistance, fiscal sponsorship, and training summits to cultivate a powerful citywide network of over 200 grassroots volunteer groups and environmental nonprofits. Simply put, we help people help parks.
