About Riverway
Bordering the Muddy River (00927), the 34 acre Riverway was first proposed by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1881. Also known as The Parkway as indicated on the job plans, the linear park served as a connector from the Fens-Back Bay (00916) to Olmsted Park (00964), and serves a natural border between Brookline and Boston. Olmsted’s design featured a series of extending over the Muddy River as seen in plan 00930-95.
