About Troy State Normal School
In 1928 the Olmsted Brothers prepared plans for the Troy State Normal School at the request of Dr. S.M Shackelford. The 1930’s general plan showed academic and administrative buildings centered around a plaza square and rectangular courtyard (plan litho 07962-02).Expansive fields, athletic courts, and two ponds decorated the rest of the central campus.
