Today, Olmsted 200 launched its year-long nationwide campaign to celebrate the upcoming bicentennial of Frederick Law Olmsted with a Watch Party and Panel Discussion for Olmsted and America’s Urban Parks, a documentary narrated by actress Kerry Washington. Thousands of parks and landscape projects designed and inspired by FLO and the Olmsted firm can still be enjoyed today, from New York’s Central Park to the Palos Verdes community in California.
The Olmsted 200 celebration will include a variety of national and local activities and events aimed at building public and policy support for America’s natural and historic spaces. The campaign runs for the entire year leading up to the 200th anniversary of Olmsted’s birth, on April 26, 2022.
