After Dawson had made a preliminary inspection of his property in The Highlands, Arnold hired the Olmsted Brothers firm in 1914. Dawson would continue to consult with Arnold over the next several years, returning again in 1927 when he was coming to Olympia to design the grounds of the State capitol (job 05350). The project included arranging for many plants to be shipped from eastern nurseries.
