About The Highlands

John Charles Olmsted and his partner, James Frederick Dawson, consulted on many projects in The Highlands, including the layout and the Golf Club. J.C. Olmsted first visited the 340-acre site in 1907 when he was in Seattle to design the A.Y.P. Exposition (job 02739). He advised on siting of homes and on proposed lot and road configurations. Many of the individual property owners at The Highlands contacted the Olmsted Brothers. A total of 34 made contact and plans were completed for 16, but 5 did not use the plans and 5 sold their property. (also see jobs 08243 and 08247)
