About Garrett, Edward I.
In 1938 James Dawson designed Mr. and Mrs. Edward I. Garrett’s estate garden in The Highlands. Plans called for rhododendrons and azaleas massing along grassy pathways leading through the native conifer forest and heather planted on the slope below the west-facing terrace. The firm designed the entry drive, forecourt, and garage location; per Mrs. Garrett, plantings excluded camellias.
