About Stimson, C. D.

Alternate name(s): "Norcliffe"

J.C. Olmsted consulted with the C.D. Stimson and his wife just after meeting with Clark (job 03490) a neighbor in the HIghlands. After developing a preliminary plan, Olmsted Brothers correspondence politely advised architect K.K. Cutter on siting of the house so as to provide the best views of the Olympic Mountains. A great deal of attention was paid to the planting of the site including the formal gardens for the house and cottage. The firm’s records include 42 plans and drawings from 1909-1914 and 1921 when additional planting plans were prepared.
