Friends of Morningside Park
The Friends of Morningside Park’s mission is to be stewards of a thriving Morningside Park that serves, inspires and unifies our community.
Friends of Morningside Park has an over 40 year history as the non profit stewardship partner with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation in the preservation, maintenance and enhancement of Manhattan’s Morningside Park. Morningside is the final New York City park of Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux to be completed in their lifetimes. At the time of its completion in 1895, Morningside was cited as the “most consummate work of art” Calvert Vaux had ever produced. It was designated a Scenic Landmark of New York City in 2008.
