Rock Creek Conservancy

Rock Creek Conservancy is the only organization dedicated solely to Rock Creek and its parks. The creek meanders 33 miles through Montgomery County and Washington, DC, crossing federal lands as well as District, city, county, and state boundaries. Rock Creek Park consists of more than 3,000 acres, 99 sites, and 5 wards. The Conservancy’s mission is to restore Rock Creek and its parklands as a natural oasis for all people to appreciate and protect.

As an official philanthropic and stewardship partner to the National Park Service, the Conservancy leverages a unique model of people-powered restoration to restore the forest, ensure clean water throughout the watershed, elevate the park visitor experience, and increase equity of access to this treasured green space. Our strategy is to build partnerships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and residents to work together to preserve Rock Creek for present and future generations.
