US Conference of Mayors is excited to collaborate again with City Parks Alliance, National Recreation and Parks Association, and National League of Cities to host a webinar on Monday, October 30th at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program (ORLP) for local elected officials and city staff. The ORLP seventh round has $124 million in available funds for cities for park projects in underserved communities (populations of 30,000 or more). For those cities with a population of less than 30,000, the National Park Service staff will touch on the Land and Water Conservation Fund stateside grant program that does not have a population threshold.

Mayors can play a major role in galvanizing community support for local parks. This webinar will focus on steps mayors can take with their local partners to apply for projects in their cities. Join with other mayors and our partners in this effort to learn about available funding from the National Park Service.

We encourage mayors and their park and rec departments to watch this webinar and to engage in discussions afterward to identify possible ORLP projects in your city. Please send any specific questions for the panel in advance to Tom McClimon of the conference staff at mcclimon@usmayors.org or Jocelyn Bogen at jbogen@usmayors.org.
