We invite the public to join us for a picnic celebration honoring Frederick Law Olmsted and his influence on the Passaic County Park System.
We will have pre-event activities such as an NJASLA supported Sketch Crawl with Richard Alomar and a walking tour of Barbours Pond discussing the history of Olmsted, the involvement of the Olmsted Brother’s Frim in the development of our park system and what went into the construction of Garret Mountain Reservation. (These activities require registration)
Between 12pm – 3pm we will have activities for children, a live phonograph DJ, our friends Lokai Rose will have a photo booth and environmental-themed activities, and dance instructors from Arthur Murray Dance School to teach attendees how to Swing Dance!
We will announce the winners of our County Wide Photography contest and a cake cutting to celebrate Olmsted’s 200th Birthday.
We strongly encourage packing your own picnic, however, there will be food available on site!
We look forward to seeing you there!
