On Saturday, September 10, Olmsted City of Greater Utica will host a day of free family-friendly programming at F.T. Proctor Park that will coincide with the playing of the Redeemer Cup, Utica’s “world cup” soccer tournament in nearby T.R. Proctor Park. More details will be forthcoming later in the summer, but please mark your calendars for Proctor-Olmsted Day -the first Proctor Day since 1942! – which is sponsored by our generous friends at the Bank of Utica.

We’ll be celebrating the vision and generosity of Thomas and Maria Proctor, who inspired and largely paid for the creation of our massive parks and parkway system, and the creativity of the renowned designer of that system, Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. It will be another contribution by Olmsted City to this year’s national Olmsted200 celebration of the innumerable contributions of the Olmsted family to the American landscape and will serve as a run-up to next year’s centennial of Maria Proctor’s donation of the 62 acre Olmsted designed F.T. Proctor Park to the people of Utica. We hope you’ll join us!
